Biochar Supreme, LLC attended and co-sponsored Sustainable Connections "Green Building Conference" at Bellingham Bay, November 7th.  Partnered with the Northwest American Institute of Architects, Sustainable Connections addressed the strategies for reducing environmental impact with the planning and implementation of high-performance buildings, communities and green infrastructures.

This year's theme "Collaborating for Carbon Neutral" showcased Brian Geller, Director of Seattle's "2030 District" who discussed the groundbreaking actions his organization has taken in developing and actualizing realistic, measurable and innovative environmental impacts in downtown Seattle.
Engineers, planners, chemists, architects assembled to discuss state-of-the-art technologies which include utilizing biochar as an eco-friendly, less expensive alternative to activated carbon for remediation projects.  Attendees also learned about creative solutions for infill and green building incentives.

City planners aim to see Whatcom County implement several green roofs and green walls in the years ahead as well as clean up Bellingham Bay, Lake Whatcom Watershed and several smaller bodies of water in the county.  Stay tuned for information on installments of our biochar on some of these projects!
